At Buddy Dive Academy, we believe that developing the next generation of PADI Professionals is a shared responsibility. Every year, talented Divemasters and Assistant Instructors are ready to take the next step in their careers, yet many don’t have access to a local Instructor Development Course (IDC) or an in-house PADI Course Director.
To help bridge that gap, we are proud to introduce the Buddy Dive Academy Partner Referral Program; a new initiative designed to strengthen partnerships across the diving industry while making professional instructor training more accessible.
Supporting Professional Growth
Many dive centers offer exceptional recreational and Divemaster training but don’t regularly conduct Instructor Development Courses themselves. As a result, promising dive professionals often need to look elsewhere to continue their education.
Rather than seeing this as a challenge, we see it as an opportunity to work together. By partnering with Buddy Dive Academy, dive centers, travel partners, instructors, resorts, and industry professionals can confidently refer aspiring PADI Instructors to a trusted IDC destination while continuing to support their students’ professional development.
It is important to note that this program is designed to complement, not compete with, existing IDC Centers. Our focus is on supporting partners who do not regularly offer instructor training themselves, creating additional opportunities without disrupting existing instructor development programs.
How the Referral Program Works
The concept is simple. Partners refer Divemasters or Assistant Instructors to Buddy Dive Academy’s Instructor Development Course.
Once the candidate enrolls in and starts the IDC, the referring partner receives Buddy Dive Travel Credits. The more successful referrals made throughout the year, the greater the rewards. These travel credits can be redeemed for accommodation, dive packages, staff travel, group bookings, and future reservations at Buddy Dive Resort.
It is our way of recognizing partners who actively invest in the future of professional diving.
