Year in Review 2024🎉
As 2024 approaches, Your Buddies would like to reflect on the events and highlights that made this year amazing! We encountered everyone from beginners to dive masters throughout the year.
✨ Here are some of our accomplishments:
417 Beginner Courses: We introduced newcomers to the world of diving, including 54 refresher courses for those needing a little boost!
58 Kids Programs: Our most popular programs, the Seal Team and Bubblemakers, catered to children ages 8 to 10. It’s fantastic to see the future of responsible diving in action! Our youth-oriented programs allow kids as young as 5 to start learning about marine life in a fun and controlled environment.
56 Professional Courses: We continued to lead, teach, and verify the progress of divers becoming dive masters and instructors. This year, we conducted 30 instructor development courses, helping divers enhance their skills to become professional scuba instructors.
212 Specialty Courses: We trained divers in various specialties, with the Nitrox course being the most popular. We also love to extend our bottom time while exploring!
226 Continued Education Courses: Responsible diving is crucial for the future of Bonaire’s waters. We held 105 sessions focused on techniques for reef restoration processes. Additionally, 97 courses were completed, allowing divers to advance their open-water knowledge and training.

Newlyweds Joseph and Erin celebrated their honeymoon in a truly unique way, capturing breathtaking photos while scuba diving in the calm, crystal-clear waters of Bonaire.

Julia taught us how to deal with getting water in your mask. Remember, focus on breathing through your mouth, and clear your mask like your instructor taught you! Now you know!

Carol completed 1500 dives, of which 1400 were with Buddy Dive! We are truly honored that you have chosen to share so many dives with us and put your trust and loyalty in us over the years. Congratulations again on such an achievement!

We completed the second successful ‘Buddy Thru the Lens’ event – underwater photography. It begins with PADI underwater photography speciality with demos, presentations, boat dives and clinics. Here’s to a successful third year for Buddy Thru the Lens, of which will take place August 23 – 29, 2025. We hope to see you there!

Operation CCR is a staple in Your Buddies year, of which we have seen many CCR divers partake and enjoy a week dedicated to their skillsets. 2025 will see CCR week on April 19 – 25.
Bonaire Tek also had a fantastic turnout this year with 50 divers from all over the world, for a fully booked event! Divers battled lionfish in the deeper reefs and had opportunities to dive at tec sites like Taylor Made and Windjammer Wreck! Are you interested in a week of technical diving with opportunities to meet like-minded divers, dive with experts, learn new techniques and test equipment? We will see you between September 27 – October 3, 2025.
